Die Köln International School of Design (KISD) der Fachhochschule Köln zeigt vom 08. bis zum 13. Juli unter dem Motto »KISDCity – Design beyond Surface« die Abschlussarbeiten der diesjährigen Absolventen. In der Ausstellung spiegelt sich – mit insgesamt über 50 Arbeiten aus 12 Lehrgebieten – das Studium in seiner ganzen Vielfalt und Qualität wider. Im Gebäude der KISD entsteht dafür eine begehbare Stadtlandschaft, die den Besucher zum Flanieren einlädt und Einblicke in das spannende und außergewöhnliche Kölner Designstudium, das in diesem Jahr sein 20jähriges Bestehen feiert, gibt. Die herausragendsten Arbeiten werden während der Ausstellung für den Kölner DESIGN Preis nominiert, der im kommenden Herbst zum nunmehr vierten Mal verliehen wird.
The Köln International School of Design (KISD), part of the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, will, from 8th to 13th June, 2011, present this year’s graduate works under the theme of KISDCity – Design beyond Surface. In the exhibition, the quality and interdisciplinary nature of the model of practical and theoretical design studies can be experienced through more than 50 graduate submissions from 12 areas of expertise. For this event, the KISD building will be transformed into an urban exhibition space. An accesible cityscape will invite the visitors to stroll around and to explore the students’ work while, at the same time, giving an insight into the exciting and exceptional design education of this institution that is, this year, celebrating its 20th anniversary. During the exhibition, the most remarkable works will be presented as nominees for the Kölner Design Preis (Cologne Design Prize).
